The Fatcow herd is on the move – new pasture opening Autumn 2024!

Brace your tastebuds and sharpen your steak knives - Fatcow’s had a glow up and landed in fresh pasture on James St.

Eagle Street Pier’s esteemed steakhouse, Fatcow, has just announced its reopening on ‘prime’ new property at the prestigious 10 James Street, Fortitude Valley. Slated to open in Autumn 2024, Fatcow is poised to become the inaugural hospitality establishment in a space previously occupied by notable tenants such as Space Furniture and David Jones.

Fatcow, which took over the premises of Cha Cha Char in December of 2020, had a celebrated tenure at Eagle Street Pier, until closing its doors in July 2022 due to the precinct’s redevelopment.

Says esteemed restaurateur Michael Tassis, “We always knew the lifespan of Fatcow Steak & Lobster on Eagle Street Pier would be short and sweet – we saw the opportunity to take over the venue until ‘d-day’. But the success of the restaurant and loyalty of our patrons blew us away. Nearly 18 months after closing, we are still fielding emails and calls daily asking if, when, and where the restaurant will reopen. We are so thrilled to now be able to give them an answer – Fatcow is coming back!”.

The reimagined Fatcow, now branded as ‘Fatcow on James St’, will be under the continued leadership of Caio Rossetto, who has notably contributed to the success of Tassis Group’s Yamas Greek + Drink. The new establishment will undergo a significant metamorphosis, promising patrons an elevated dining experience.

"We are seizing the opportunity to completely reinvent the venue, which we're referring to as Fatcow's 'Glow up'," Tassis added. The design and aesthetic are a collaborative effort with long-time collaborators Allo Creative and Clui Design, ensuring a fresh and contemporary ambiance.

The Tassis Group extends its heartfelt appreciation to the community for its unwavering support and looks forward to welcoming diners to the new Fatcow on James St.
