Opa ups the ‘bar’ in Opa Bar + Mezze

The team behind Opa Bar and Mezze are excited to reveal the recent renovation on their existing bar area, unveiling a swanky new Santorini-inspired oasis that boasts spectacular views of the Brisbane River, Story Bridge and Kangaroo Point Cliffs.

The bar refresh comes just in time for the fast-approaching holiday season, presenting the perfect riverside setting to relax, nibble and sip away Brisbane’s glorious afternoons.

Known for its delicious and authentic Greek-inspired fare, Opa has been a staple of the Riverside Centre’s dining precinct since the restaurant’s opening in 2021. Restaurant owner, Mr Michael Tassis says, “The bar reno extends Opa’s casual al fresco dining offering out to the boardwalk, making it the perfect place to enjoy lowkey mezze and a signature cocktail or two’.

The new space is somewhere between a Santorini beach lounge and sleek modern restaurant, with striking linen-lined seating, standing bar tables, beautifully textured white plaster walls, and lush greenery to match.

Key highlights of Opa Bar and Mezze's renovation include:

• An open-plan design that maximises the restaurants riverfront views

• A combination of low and high set seating to support every length of visit

• An electric awning to protect guests from Queensland’s harsh levels of sun exposure

The bar area is open daily, from 11am–10pm, with bar snacks and the restaurant’s full a la carte menu available to order. All of which, are best accompanied by the extensive list of cocktails, beers and wines from the bar. Plus, visit daily between 4pm–6pm to take advantage of Opa’s epic happy hour offerings, featuring $7 schooners, $8 counterpoint wines and $12 espresso martinis.
